• What is a Desiccant Dryer?
  A desiccant dryer is basically a container that contains a certain amount of a drying medium that has the ability to dehydrate the air. One of the most common drying media is silica gel activated alumina. The compressed air stream passes through the granules and the moisture is removed by absorption without reducing the temperature.
• What kind of contamination such a Desiccant Dryer can remove?
  This type of desiccant dryer is designed to remove only moisture, oil and dirt. They have no effect on carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons or similar contaminants.
• What else must be considered when using a desiccant dryer?
  Removing too much moisture can be just as bad as having too much. Therefore, the full effect of such a dryer must be considered before installing it in the compressed air line.
