History

The company was founded in 1941 as a small contractor equipment rental company located on Clementina Street in San Francisco, California. In the early 1950s, with input from its rental customers, Clementina began designing its own blasting equipment, which led to the formation of a new manufacturing and sales division that adopted the name Clemco. Clemco became a separate company in 1960 and was renamed Clemco Industries in 1970.

In the early 1980s, Zero Manufacturing, a company that had been in the dairy equipment business since 1946, began producing blast cabinets using Clemco pressure blasting equipment. Clemco acquired Zero Manufacturing in 1986 and consolidated its U.S. activities into a new facility in Washington, Missouri, in 1990.
