Paint Thickness Measurement on Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics
- Ultrasonic thickness gauge for paint, lacquer and plastic coatings, also suitable for Glass- and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics
- From 10 µm coating thickness
- Extended measuring range up to 7mm
- Up to 5 layers in one operation
The new ultrasonic thickness gauge QuintSonic of German company ElektroPhysik is able to measure the individual thickness of up to five (5) polymer layers (non-destructive measurement in just one measuring operation). Layer thicknesses of paints, lacquers and plastics on metal, plastic, wood, glass and ceramics are determined with very high precision. As the first device of its kind, the portable QuintSonic 7 also determines layer thicknesses on components made of GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) or CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic). In addition, rapid recording of measured values of over 40 measurements per minute is possible.
Previously, the company released a Coating Thickness Measuring Device which works via Bluetooth and Mobile.
