Automotive Paint Spray Guns: SATA vs. Devilbiss vs. Sagola
The SATAjet X 5500, Devilbiss DV1 and Sagola 4600 can be considered the most advanced automotive paint spray guns available. A variety of air caps and nozzle sizes are available to apply a wide range of basecoats and clearcoats, including difficult to apply coatings such as High Solids (HS) and metallic finishes. Devilbiss takes a different approach by offering the DV1 in two different versions: The DV1 ‘Basecoat’ and the DV1 ‘Clearcoat’ spray gun with special air caps and nozzle systems.

- Quieter (“whispering nozzle”) than previous model
- New nozzle system, available as either a parallel ‘I’ nozzle (for reduced application speed but improved control) or an oval ‘O’ nozzle (for increased application speed)

Devilbiss DV1
- Two (2) different gun models: ‘Basecoat’ gun (silver body) and ‘Clearcoat’ gun (black matte finish)
- New simplified air valve (easier removal/serviceability)
- Reconfigured air adjustment valve: now combined with air inlet into a single ‘co-axial’ component (previously: air inlet and air adjustment valve were two separate components)
