Spray Gun Body – complete new look
The spray gun body, made of anodized aluminium, has been completely redesigned and shows hardly any similarities to its predecessors. And with a weight of only 470 g [16.6 oz] (without gravity cup), the Devilbiss DV1 is now the lightest in the group of premium refinishing paint guns. The gun is available in either a matt black ‘Clear Coat’ finish (Devilbiss DV1-C) or a matt silver ‘Base Coat’ finish (Devilbiss DV1-B).
Fluid Tips – wider range in new design
The design of the nozzle system (fluid tips) is also new. The fluid nozzles are available in the sizes from 0.9 to 1.5 mm (0.9, 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 mm) for the Base Coat model and in 1.0 to 1.4 mm (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 mm for the Clear Coat Model. Each single nozzle size can be operated with the same needle, i.e. there is no need to change the needle if the operator changes to a different nozzle size.

Air Caps – HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure)
Air caps are available as DV1-B, DV1-B PLUS, C1 and C2: The DV1-B is dedicated to typical “HVLP applications” while DV1-B+ (DV1-B PLUS) is made for high efficiency performance at low pressure equivalent to today’s ‘High Efficiency’ air caps. The air cap now also has a quick-release thread for quick removal and replacement.
Air Cap Model | Atomization | Air Consumption | Pattern Size
DV1-B | HVLP | 400 lpm [14.1 scfm] | 330 mm [13 in]
DV1-B+ | HVLP | 300 lpm [10.5 scfm] | 325 mm [12.8 in]

C2 | HVLP | 320 lpm [11.3 scfm] | 310 mm [12.2 in] |
The gun also features a new coaxial air valve design: The air inlet and air control valve are now combined for a smoother air control which is 12 times more precise, according to Devilbiss. The Devilbiss DV1 is also available in a ‘digital’ version with a digital air gauge.

Are any limited or special editions of the Devilbiss DV1 spray gun available?
In the beginning of 2022, Devilbiss introduced a special edition of the Devilbiss DV1 ‘Basecoat’ in a black matte finish (which looks similar to the standard Devilbiss ‘Clearcoat’ version).
Note: there are some blue- and purple-colored DV1 spray guns offered in the market. These are usually fake spray guns from China which feature inferior coating results. Do not buy them.
